This course provides the participant with the knowledge and skill to confidently recognise and respond to an emergency situation requiring first aid, Emergency asthma management and Anaphylaxic shock. The course is designed for individuals working in an education or care setting according to workplace or community first aid policy and procedures.

This course is offered as a 1 day training course. A multi - choice quiz is required to be completed before the 1 day practical day is successfully attained. This course provides the participant with the knowledge and skill to confidently recognise and respond to an emergency situation requiring first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylatic shock.

Infectious Diseases and Hygiene
Basic Human Anatomy and Physiology
Management of the Conscious and Unconscious casualties
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation – Pocket mask accreditation
AED - Defibrillation
Airway Management
Bleeding
Shock recognition and treatment
Burn types and treatment
Fractures and Soft Tissue Injuries
Head Injuries
Eye and Ear Injuries
Chest, Pelvic and Spinal Injuries
Emergency asthma management
Anaphylaxic Shock
Diabetes, Epilepsy, Stroke
Heart conditions
Extremes of heat and cold
Poisons, Bites and Stings

Prerequisite:  none
Valid:  3 years
Duration:  8 hour’s face-to-face training  
Includes: First Aid manual, student workbook, spacer and primary survey poster on completion a  nationally accredited statement of attainment
Course Accreditation:  The course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
